September. I like this month. I usually wangle a few days off at the end of each month so it is always full of happy expectations. That usually includes some sort of hope that the mighty West Coast Eagles will be strutting their stuff at the MCG. Sadly, this isn't the case. The walking wounded can walk no more. Well, such is life..
Winter is in recoil and spring weather is just around the corner. It is a nice time of the year. Even I'm coming out of hibernation.
I'll be posting but I just don't know to what degree, anyway. One small step for man.
A month has passed since I promised myself that I would blog at least once a day during April. This blog included, allows me to live up to that promise. I question though, what value it had and I also question what the value was of any content contained therein. I suppose it has to be better than using the time to watch mind bending television, doing gardening or beating people up just for the fun of it.
Don't expect the flow to continue.
After a paucity of posts during the month of March I decided at the start of April that I would post at least once a day this month. It is now the 20th of the month and so far I have met this commitment and even posted more than one a day when some issue demanded that I climb upon my soap box once again.
This would be such a tough promise to fulfill if I wasn't so opinionated, verbose and downright lazy to get out in the garden.
Whatever the truth of whose quote it is, I rather imagine that it holds water. On the other hand, I would suggest that it is also true that for an artist (be they armed with brush, keyboard or camera), the reverse is true. Where artistic genius is concerned, it is one percent perspiration and ninety nine percent inspiration. This is not to say that it can't be done, rather my belief that an artist produces quality work when inspired to do so.
Blogging is more than a little like that. I have bemoaned my lack of contribution to this blog over the last few days and have attributed it to a lack of time. Whilst this is true, it is only true to a point. What is true is that I have not been inspired. There has been nothing to cause a passionate outpouring of emotion or angst. So I scratch around sometimes thinking to myself “I must update my blog” and then find myself sitting pointlessly in front of a blank Livejournal screen with idle fingers and nothing to say. No worthy blog fodder to feed to the masses (well, okay, the handful) of people who read this.
I have on occasions resorted to the old faithful backstop of grabbing mildly amusing and interesting headlines and tossing them casually around these pages as a drinker in a pub casually throws them into beery conversation with his mates. It is hardly the stuff of inspiration and certainly does not warrant a great deal of discussion.
Nought has happened in my personal life of such proportions that merits mention here. I am rather a private person where my blog is concerned anyway and so you will seldom see me reveal personal matters or issues that weigh upon my mind. I will share opinions of the world around me, but not of the world within me. I don’t need it to help me deal with life. I am a ‘self-healer’ type of person. This is not a criticism of those who do put it out there for discussion and I applaud those who have the courage to do so. It just isn’t me, is all.
Well, I have that off my chest now. It is something I wanted to say, rather than ‘had' to say.
I was moderately inspired to say it too!
